Default 30/50 HoM in 2 days, from scratch. Is it a lie?

Sounds very unlikely for me. I am in now way a GW pro, but I've been playing for about 2 years and I know my way around the game pretty well, I can make a good build, manage agro etc, yet I am barely at 8/50

I read in another thread that

Is it true? If so... how is it possible?

I can't see how you could get to 30/50 in 2 days from scratch if you have no money. If money's no object, then it should be possible. But then again, I am no GW pro aswell. I got from 7/50 to 30/50 in 2 days, but that was because I just hit the jackpot and bought my way there.

From scratch...so with no campaigns complete and no money? Not possible.

You can't afford elite armour/weapons...there's 16 points unavailable already, leaving a max possible of 34/50. No PvP title loses another 3 points...and the only PvP statue achievable in 2 days needs a ton of money or balthazar points (Zaishen) which you won't have, so possible points is only 31/50.

With no titles, no campaign completion, no mini pets (and no money to buy them), no hero armour (and no access to the challenge missions yet to get it, or money to buy it)...I reckon maxing the other monuments in 2 days from scratch is impossible.

Unless your 2 year old account is 8/50 because you've been doing nothing but hoarding Ectos the whole time, it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to get 30/50 anytime soon.

In the mean time, complete all 3 campaigns with all missions/bonuses, that'll pop you up to 8 pts honor.

Next, do the Black Moa quest in Fac, charm a random pet and level it to 20, and then farm Djakah Inlet for 2 stolen sunspear armors. For a good 5 points in fellowship.

Everything else will require money, time, and ambition.

It's not possible. At least, not in a non-misleading way.

If you take "from scratch" as a new character on new account, you'd need a lot of time just to get the protector titles. Half an hour per mission, and already you'd need to play for two days straight to do it. And those are the "introductory titles" - first titles everyone gets.

The only way you could make the statement work would be if you have an already well entrenched account that has already done everything, unlocked every skill and outpost, and has accumulated a vast amount of wealth, and then convert the wealth to HoM points mostly by buying items that count.

IE, if you had the money to spare and sellers readily available, you could:
-buy minipets, max of 8 points.
-buy hero armor upgrades and pets, max of 8 points.
-buy all the required prestige armors, max 8 points.
-buy all prestige weapons, max of 8 points.

But really, how about we calculate those costs, too? Just how rich would you have to be? Would you really get that money in two days? Hell, with stacks of ectos, would you find sellers of all those items in two days?

Even the 20000 clicks needed to use fast consumables for the sweet tooth and party animal would be a strain on your fingers...

So, no, not really. However, SOME people got the wrong idea for several reasons:
-they already had many titles, but hadn't displayed them in the HoM. So, all they had to do was walk into the HoM and display them for a massive boost in points (display one title, and you've got 5 points here already (with the linked account and any title) - triple protector, and you're already 7 due to the extra statue bonus for 5 titles)
-they alreadys had many characters with a few pets each, and just displayed them to gain the points (note: 1 rare mini (celestial pets are relatively easily acquired), 1 unique mini (black moa chick, just a few hours' work) - and you're already at 3/8 for minis)
-everyone already has an elite armor, or the resources to buy one easily, so...
-justi finishing War in kryta will get you enough war supplies and medals to get an oppressor weapon, and at least for the start, before the market found out that previously low value diamonds, onyx and granite can actually run out at the traders, destroyer weapons were a matter of fast purchase

But as I said - to call this "from scratch" is ridiculously misleading.

How are you a pro if you have only completed elone? What about doing UW, FoW, DoA? What about completing all campaigns? What about maxing titles? How can you consider yourself a pro with only 1 elite armour? Not trying to be mean, but please don't say you are a pro like that >>

Play through factions, should take about a day max (2 titles, playing thru + all mishes mastered)

Capping moa takes about 20 minutes

Complete UW and FoW (2 hours each)

8 points from honor: 3 for accs linked, 2 for any statue, 3 for 5 statues

cap black widow while ur at it

Sell your ectos and shards should EASILY be able to get 1 green and one gold mini

+3 points: any mini, rare mini, unique mini

Go to EoTN get ran to the cnetral transfer chamber, do glints challenge for a few hero armors.

+5 points: Any hero, any pet, rare pet, 5 statues

Add ANY weapon to hom (destroyer, tormented or opressor, i think destroyer is the cheapest atm)

+2 points

18 points so far in 2 days, no cash to start with. Altho i admit doing UW might be a bit hard for the less uhm...."pro" people

Edit: you can swap UW for sorrows furnace, its a bit easier to do, altho less reward. Also mox is free to add to HoM, easy point there also which you didnt utilize!

Edit: im 100% sure that you (by you i mean an experienced gw player on an entirely new account, not you per se) can get 30/50 in a week. Not 2 days maybe, but a week? piece of cake.

If you get run through all 3 campaigns , NM and HM with bonuses, you will have 10 titles (3x Eternal Hero 3x Eternal Protector 4x Eternal Guardian)

Now who has that kind of cash ...

2 days I doubt. But looking at your HoM, getting more points should be very easy.

Devotion:
1: Any Gold mini
2: Any Green mini
This'll give you 2 more points (and just buy first years, they're very cheap)

Fellowship:
1: Cap Black Moa
2: Go get MOX (does't need armour upgrade)
3: Do any of the hero armour mini-games (you only need 2)
4: Any 5 Statues (Full display). You'll get this for completing the other 2.
Should take less than an hour.

Honor:
1: Sorrow's Furnace
2: Complete Tyria
3: Complete Faction
This'll give you another 3 points. Depends how far you are, but should take ~4 hours to do only the necessary missions.

Resilience:
1: Elite Kurzick/Luxon
2: Elite Vabbian
3: Any 2 others.
This is very money dependant, but a very easy 5 points.

Valor:
1: Complete War in Kryta questline and get Oppressor Weapon.
2: Buy Destroyer Weapon
Another that's money dependent, but an easy 3 points.

This is an easy 15 points anyway that should be doable in 2 days.

Definitely not. For all the reasons listed above.

If you're truly starting *from scratch*. If you just found out about GW, are running around on an Elementalist with half your points into Beast Mastery and are using a quest-reward long sword, you probably won't get to 30/50 in the next month.

Just enjoy the game before it truly dies.

It doesnt say by a new player. For experienced players its very well possible to get 20 or so, maybe even 30 if they have some cash they can loan from friends.

You might want to think about the blanket bot bans and this statement together. Maybe then it becomes more clear?

I don't see even this being possible. It comes down to money that you will not have. No minis (at least not 20, if you spend your money on green+gold you can kiss your armor good bye), maybe 1-2 elite armors (one of them kurz/lux), no weapons (well maybe one oppressor), 10 companions (20, just maybe).

If you have a lot of friends willing to run sh*t load of stuff for you, maybe. But then they could just hand you the money to buy everything anyway. Still you have to realize how much time even 20-25 points take, running through all basic campaigns with bonus + EOTN + everything else (skills, hero armor, WiK, etc.).

Went from 13 to 30 in a few days because i had some money to spend. So if you have money you can get points pretty easy, but not from 0 - 30 in 2 days.

He says "I am in now way a GW pro". "Now" is a typo for "no". You see?

You can't run to CTC (unless you participate in DD with someone who is doing that quest).

If you're sitting on a gold mine... and materials are at the trader + you have luck buying + Have time for sorrow's furnace + UW + FoW + Deep. Technically you could get 43 points in the span of 2 days. Possible? Yes. Likely? No way. But going 0-30 is more likely than you'd think (as long as you've got money).

Yes, this is true because 30/50 requires hardly any titles. But (a lot of) money = (a lot of) game time, unless you wanna risk getting banned.

Same thing could be said about 50/50 because (as it was said in another thread) there is hardly anything in HoM that you can't buy - with tons of money. Just takes a bit more time.

Considering each mission can take about 30 minutes, and then you include prep time and between-mission questing, completing all three campaigns and the expansion would take at least 36 hours. That's just to get to the end, assuming no fails, and all objectives gotten in one shot.

Two days is an obvious exaggeration. Even a week to get 30/50 would be, unless you cashed in some serious ToT stacks during Halloween.

If you played for 8 hours a day, and knew where everything was and used the wiki, the least amount of time it would take you is about 2 months to get 30/50, and that includes some farming time.
